Samopomich Union deputy, chairman of the Anti-Corruption Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Yehor Soboliev, addressed the director of the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Artem Sytnyk, with the requirement to initiate criminal proceedings against five deputies that own huge incomes and have no grounds for them.
“Oleh Liashko is one of them. He came to the Parliament being a poor man and ended up being a dollar millionaire. Ihor Hryniv is the head of the President’s faction, who has spent almost all his life in politics and has earned an excellent fortune, starting with the most valuable collection of expensive icons and books. Two Dobkin brothers, representing the Opposition Bloc, have one thing in common. They really have a lot of assets and don’t have grounds to explain where they got them from. And Anton Yatsenko, who, in accordance with the documents, have spent his whole life in public offices, became a very successful multi-millionaire,” Yehor Soboliev said.
At the same time, the lawmaker believes that fights between MPs during a meeting of the coordination board are nothing more than a show aimed at distracting public’s attention. “I think that when the Anti-Corruption Bureau begins investigating these criminal proceedings, bringing to justice the people who allegedly fought for the interests of the poor and became rich themselves, this will disrupt Putin’s plans a lot. Once this week the Parliament adopts a law on the right of the Anti-Corruption Bureau – without the control on the part of the Security Service of Ukraine, by court order – to wiretap corrupt officials, this will also be the failure of Putin’s plans. And when the Parliament passes the law on denouncers – which will allow each person or journalist to expose corruption and get a reward from the state budget for this – this will also disrupt Putin’s plans.”
