Yehor Soboliev: We have proved to our Western partners that Minsk is a trap

The Verkhovna Rada made a decision to hold parliamentary hearings on the theme of “Topical problems of Ukraine’s foreign policy”.
“The Parliament hasn’t got its own vision of Ukraine’s foreign policy. It hasn’t got it now, it didn’t have it, and it depends on us whether it will have it. For two years Ukraine has been living according to the scenario written in Minsk. In all major capitals of the world “Samopomich” has proved that this is a trap. Presently, thanks God, more and more people, including the President of Ukraine, begin to support this position,” says Yehor Soboliev.
The MP believes that these hearings will be the first attempt for the Parliament to help the President to develop the international policy of Ukraine.
“The President will be strong when the Parliament is behind him, and more importantly the society, which will see that the foreign policy is realistic. Talks about an anti-Putin coalition, which exists only in the imagination of those who are talking about it, ignorance of Russian subversive activities in Washington, London, Brussels – we have to put an end to such irresponsible attitude,” says Soboliev.
“It is very important for all members of the Parliament to stand together today. Let’s talk frankly about why Minsk doesn’t work, what can be done alternatively, and together with the President we can pursue a policy that will ensure security and development,” sums up Yehor Soboliev.
