In the first round of the presidential elections, Ukrainians brandished the red card to the current government. This was stated by MP Viktoriia Voitsitska.
The parliamentarian explains: “30% of people who voted for Zelenskyi in the first round did not vote for programs or for teams. It was an expression of their emotions, in the first place. It was the “red card” for today’s government.”
The reason for this is the fact that in the course of Petro Poroshenko’s five-year-long presidency, the lives of many Ukrainians have not improved but become worse.
Citizens are tired of promises. Viktoriia Voitsitska states: “Mr Poroshenko is very good at speaking or reading, especially when the teleprompters are on. But his words are but wind when he has one of the lowest ratings among Ukrainians as a politician.”
At the same time, there are many questions to Volodymyr Zelenskyi. In particular, Ukrainians and our international partners are concerned about the fact that he still has not given a clear answer to the question of what his team is like.
The people’s deputy emphasizes: “The presidential candidate Mr. Zelenskyi should tell us who will be the Prosecutor General, the Minister of Defence, the candidate for the post of Prime Minister, who will head the Presidential Administration.”
“I would really like to see these people and hear what kind of policy they will pursue,” concludes Viktoriia Voitsitska.
