Viktoriia Voitsitska from the Samopomich parliamentary faction is asking the government how people should pay for gas: “We are witnessing a ping-pong game between the regional gas distribution companies and the government when the former cancel the relevant decisions of the latter in courts. Then the gas companies go to court once again and increase the consumption rate from 3 to 9 cubic metres. How much longer will this go on?
The government advises paying according to the norms of the Cabinet of Ministers.
Voitsitska has also inquired about the strange situation with the payment for the installation of metres: “Who advised you to shift the responsibility and the main financial burden for installing metres on Naftogaz?” Gas consumers have already paid for it in the past when it was included in the tariff. And now the government proposes that the state-owned company Naftogaz should finance this.”
Social Policy Minister Andriy Reva says that Naftogaz will pay for the installation of metres and then will charge regional gas companies and will return the money.”
However, Voitsitska notes, “This means that people will pay twice, because it will be almost impossible to wheedle money out of regional gas companies”.
