Voitsitska: “The guarantor of corruption is going away, but his corrupt “Rotterdam+” legacy remains”

“MP Viktoriia Voitsitska calls on the parliament and the Speaker of the parliament to facilitate consideration of the draft law 8626 on introducing amendments to the Tax Code regarding the reduction of electricity prices as quickly as possible.

“People should pay fair tariffs, instead of enriching the oligarchs at the expense of their own impoverishment,” says Voitsitska.

The draft law 8626 was registered last fall. The document should eliminate the corruption scheme “Rotterdam+” and result in a reduction in the price of electricity by 15%. However, for some reason, neither Poroshenko’s friends nor Nina Yuzhanina (chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Taxation and Customs Policy) is in a hurry to introduce this bill for the Committee’s consideration.

The Samopomich representative is indignant: “All this time we have been paying more than a billion hryvnias of a monthly corruption rent to oligarch Rinat Akhmetov.”

Voitsitska notes: “People have expressed a vote of no confidence in the guarantor of corruption and deprived him of the presidency. But his corruption legacy, including the notorious Rotterdam+ formula, is still there. It’s time to change that too.”
