Bereziuk: Criminal case initiated against a “Samopomich” member for his participation in the contest for the position of chairman of the State Administration

A criminal case was initiated against the chairman of the “Samopomich” faction in the Kharkiv City Council, Taras Sitenko, because of his participation in the contest for the position of chairman of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration. This was stated by the Chairman of the “Samopomich” parliamentary faction, Oleh Bereziuk.
“Sitenko is a professional governor. Over the past two years, in the difficult conditions of Kharkiv he has proved that he is also a good political governor – he defends the interests of the state. Therefore we support his participation in the contest for the position of chairman of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration. However, this decision has caused incredible resistance of the authorities. Thus the existing criminal cases by means of which “Samopomich” members in the Kharkiv region are persecuted, during the last week were appended by two more cases, including the one against Sitenko. This means that the authorities are afraid, and the Kharkiv “Samopomich” is doing the right thing,” said the leader of the “Samopomich” faction in the Parliament.
Oleh Bereziuk states that in the case of Sitenko’s winning the competition his agreements with the President’s team will be open and serving the interests of the people.
“It’s a matter of honor – to create new, quality public management. We will have to communicate with the authorities, but we will do it openly, transparently, fairly and in the interests of the people, not the authorities. And agreements with the government must be open and in the interest of public administration and the people living in the Kharkiv region,” he added.
