Viktoriia Voitsitska: “The safety of our nuclear industry is one of the key priorities”

At the meeting of the coordination board of the parliament, MP Viktoriia Voitsitska from the Samopomich parliamentary faction once again drew the attention of her colleagues to the bill 3131.

According to her, this document is the key bill concerning the employees of such companies as Energoatom and Ukrhydroenergo. It is true that the salaries of the workers of nuclear power plants in Ukraine are 5-10 times lower than those of their colleagues from France or the US, and 2-3 times lower than in Russia or Iran. After all, the tariffs of Ukrainian NPPs are “devoured” by thermal generation, the tariffs for which are imposed by its owners by fair means or foul. Ukraine is losing qualified personnel in the industry, on whose training a lot of resources has been spent. The management of the nuclear power plants motivates highly qualified personnel by building housing in single-industry towns near the nuclear power plants and selling apartments to these specialists at market cost on instalment plan for several years in order to keep the specialists. But today the legislation stopped the possibility of selling the already built housing to the workers of nuclear power plants.

Viktoriia Voitsitska strives to immediately rectify the situation and to have the bill No. 3131 voted in the parliament as early as this week. The adoption of the bill will allow state-owned enterprises, including the nuclear industry ones, to sell such apartments to their employees.
