According to the Public Lustration Committee, none of the defendants in high-profile criminal proceedings is serving a sentence of imprisonment.
This was stated by the Chairman of the parliamentary anti-corruption committee, a member of the “Samopomich” Union faction, Yehor Soboliev, during the briefing on the status of investigations into the crimes of Maidan and corruption of officials.
According to the data provided by the Public Lustration Council in the online registry “In the name of Ukraine”, a verdict of guilty has not been brought in on any of the 107 criminal proceedings.
A pre-trial investigation is still going on only in 62 criminal cases, and only 20 have been reported suspected. The investigation of 25 criminal proceedings was terminated due to the failure to identify the location of a suspect: the cases of Zakharchenko, Pshonka, Klimenko, Kliuyev, and other high-ranking officials of Yanukovych’s times involved in the crimes at Maidan.
Out of 20 cases brought to court, none has resulted in a liability of the accused.
“In a nutshell – there are no results, said Soboliev. There are no results of the investigation into the cases of top-corruption before and after Euromaidan. There are either no results of the investigation into the terror at Euromaidan.”
The Public Lustration Committee continues to monitor the criminal proceedings on Maidan and top-corruption.
