The “Samopomich” Union faction is ready to work constructively in the Parliament and support a new candidate for the post of Prime Minister while remaining in the opposition to the current government, providing some conditions are fulfilled. This was stated by MP, Chairman of the “Samopomich” Union faction, Oleh Bereziuk.
“In the Parliament there are 60-80 people who have free will and understand the importance of weights and balances element for quality public administration, those who will apply pressure using the media, who will explain to people what is happening. Then the system will be forced to change. At the very least, to change the government and to assume direct responsibility without hiding behind anyone. This will be for the first time in the recent history of Ukraine, that is, for the past 10-15 years,” chairman of the faction explained the position.
“We made it clear – we are going to stay in the opposition, which perhaps for the first time in the recent history is not formed by oligarchic system. However, remaining in the opposition we are ready to vote for a quality Prime Minister if our conditions are met. And they are as follows: a new law on parliamentary elections on a proportional basis with open lists, which is a safeguard against early elections; replacement of old CEC composition which was created for fraud; replacement of the Prosecutor General,” emphasized the MP.
“As for the coalition, we have a clear vision of which we inform people and talk to them about it – there is a coalition in the Parliament. This is the coalition of commercially oligarchic block,” he stressed.
“As for the government, our position is clear: the Prime Minister and the government must resign paying the penalty for poor quality work – in particular on the budget of the country,” said chairman of the faction.
