Following the special procedure of self-government in Donbas the amnesty will be granted to the militants – Vice-Speaker

The introduction of a special procedure of local government in Donbas is the scenario which runs contrary to the interests of the state of Ukraine. This was declared by Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Oksana Syroid, commenting on the conclusions of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine on the draft amendments to the Constitution.

“The special procedure is the formula that has not been developed in Ukraine, and it is beneficial to everybody but Ukraine. The adoption of amendments to the Constitution in such a version would mean that Ukraine accepts on what Russia insists, and agrees that there is no war but an internal conflict in the east of Ukraine,” says the MP.

According to the Vice-Speaker, it is not difficult to anticipate the implications of the proposed changes: “Following the special procedure of self-government in Donbas the amnesty will be granted to the militants. The amnesty law was adopted in September last year, and apparently it is no accident that it still remains unsigned; then there will be elections in the occupied territories”.
