“From now on, the approach to access of relatives and friends of the patients in intensive care has completely changed. Since last Friday the senseless prohibition to stay with the close ones in time of need has been finally overruled. Now intensive care units are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Of course, there will be natural health requirements on hygiene and partial time restrictions when a patient will be undergoing treatment. During all the other time both in adult and pediatric intensive care units there will be continuous access,” said the author of the legislative initiative on making intensive care units accessible, deputy from “Samopomich” Olena Sotnyk.
“Due to the pressure on behalf of the public and MPs this initiative, which goes from the Parliament, was successfully realized in the form of an order №592 from the Ministry of Health as of June 15, 2016.”
