Having adopted a number of amendments to pension legislation, the Parliament freed more than 1.5 billion UAH for the state budget. This was stated by “Samopomich” Union faction deputy, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Taxation and Customs Policy Andriy Zhurzhiy on air of “Channel 5”.
“The Parliament has taken quite a radical step having abolished pensions for civil servants who are still working. Now the officials who receive both salaries and pensions will have to make a choice: to continue working, or to retire. They won’t be able to get both,” – he said.
In addition, the MP says that the amendments that will allow by the first of June to abolish the so-called special pensions were adopted.
“This will make the rules for calculating pensions the same for everyone. For our society not to have the privileged people,” – said the deputy.
The only exception the parliamentarians have made because of the actual state of war, are the pensions for military personnel.
Zhurzhiy said that the adoption of these amendments to the legislation would free about 1.5-1.7 billion UAH for the budget.
