The “Samopomich” faction, despite reservations about the quality of some of the bills, votes for all the bills of the so-called “visa-free package”.
This was stated by the Chairman of the “Samopomich” Union faction, Oleh Bereziuk, on the sidelines of the Parliament commenting on the deputies’ readiness to support the initiatives on the agenda.
“A lot of disputable issues were resolved during the week, because there was a clear position. There are reservations as to the quality, the content of some regulations, but there is always space for improvement. Therefore, as you can see, we support practically all the laws on the agenda with some amendments,” he stated.
The people’s deputy notes that the faction’s lawyers have a lot of comments, but in general, the bills put to vote comply with the direction in which he country moves.
“We voted for the bills on special confiscation of property, on the Agency for management of property obtained through corruption, and other bills. All the laws are imperfect. But it is not about the laws, but about their implementation,” he said.
The MP stresses that at present within the legislative framework there are a lot of perfect laws that are not being implemented.
“Therefore, it is important to combine the legislative process with the executive one. Unfortunately, there is no rule of law in this country. The laws are not being implemented. This is a problem that cannot be solved overnight,” he concludes.
