It is important that everyone in the Parliament finally realize that in our country there is no Prosecutor General. This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the “Samopomich” faction Yehor Soboliev.
“In this hall there are the people who want to hear a report of the Prosecutor General’s Office on the events of August 31. They need to understand that the present Prosecutor General’s Office and Interior Ministry will not tell us what really happened back then, even if it happens again,” he said.
The deputy notes that the Prosecutor General’s Office in its current state is a skillful and highly professional body of protection of large-scale corruption.
“I am ashamed of some of my journalist colleagues and those from Euromaidan who with such enthusiasm proved that Prosecutor General Yarema should have been dismissed, because he had been failing to discover the Maidan cases. What has changed over the six months following the appointment of Prosecutor Shokin? Nothing. The failure has become even greater. One of the key witnesses in the case on titushky – has fled,” said the MP.
Soboliev has stressed that none of the MPs represent the mayor of Lviv, the Prime Minister or the President, but all the MPs represent the people.
“The Constitution gives us the right to oust the Prosecutor General who is not fulfilling his duties. I have a request to all my colleagues – there are just a little signatures lacking; estimate the work of the Prosecutor General’s Office adequately,” he stressed.
