Residential tariffs for gas and utility services must comply with economic indicators and be accrued according to a transparent formula.
This was stated on channel 112 by the Chairman of the “Samopomich” Union faction, Oleh Bereziuk.
“The issue of tariffs is still not resolved. Yesterday our faction didn’t get the Prime Minister’s answer on the tariffs’ formation. The price of gas is falling; today it is lower than it was yesterday. Why isn’t the tariff being recalculated?” says the MP.
He noted that for the tariffs’ reduction no permission from the IMF was needed.
“We have offered to explain the IMF that the economy should be the economy. If the price of gas reduces, the tariffs must reduce as well,” he added.
Also the MP noted that the faction was disappointed about the parliament’s Wednesday failure to adopt the law on reducing rent for gas companies which would have opened the way for tariffs’ reducing.
In addition, Bereziuk expressed concern about the lack of support from the deputies of “Peoples’ Front” regarding the bill on moratorium on charging and recovery of punitive sanctions for the utility companies (bill №2706).
According to the people’s deputy, this law could prevent the bankruptcy of housing and communal services and the increasing tax burden on the population.
