The gas tariffs should be revised, because the volume of the actually consumed gas is less than it was factored into the plan in the calculation. This was reported by a deputy of the “Samopomich” faction, the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Housing, Aliona Babak.
“It’s been 8 months since the new tariffs were introduced; there is already the information about how much we have actually consumed as compared to the plan. For example, in the first quarter – and this was a heating season – actually 10% less than factored into the plan was consumed,” she says.
The MP reminds that the parliamentary working group on determining the validity of the tariffs has also found that the estimation on the consumption of gas by the population in 2015 has been changed by 0.5 billion m3 as compared to what the National Commission for State Regulation in Energy and Utilities factored into the calculation of the tariff.
In addition, the government has reduced the rate of gas consumption from 6 m3 to 3 m3, which also should have reduced the amount of gas we need to buy additionally apart from the produced in Ukraine one.
“Samopomich” will raise the issue of revision of the balance of production at the next session of the Parliament. After all, a new heating season should be marked by reasonable tariffs,” said the MP.
