System of subsidies receiving should be developed before the gas prices increase, – Voitsitska

Raising of tariff rates for gas and housing services will begin in the spring of 2015, when the heating season will be coming to an end. This was reported by deputy of the “Samopomich” Union faction, Secretary of the Committee on Fuel and Energy Complex Victoriia Voitsitska.

The MP believes that the system of crediting and receiving of thetargeted subsidies for the housing services cost offset should be established by that time.

She noted that due to the increase in tariffs the relevant amendments should be introduced to the state budget. In particular, the project, received by the deputies this week, provided for 12.5 billion UAH for the support of the population in light of rising gas prices.

“But this sum of money is calculated, and now we are waiting for the Government to clarify how this calculation was carried out in order to understand whether this amount will be enough,” – she said.

Moreover, the members of the “Samopomich” faction want to see the computations of the Ministry of Social Policy on the number of consumers – potential grantees.

With regard to tariffs for gas, Voitsitska says that for households there will be a so-called preferential treatment.

“If there are up to 200 cubic meters of gas consumed, the preferential price in amount of 36,000 UAH per thousand cubic meters will be established. If there are exaggerations, the price will be around 7,000 UAH. This should encourage consumers to use gas for heating more efficiently, and to save heat,” – says the MP.
