Court upheld the claim of “Samopomich” deputies on the National Anti-Corruption Bureau’s inaction in the case of “Ukrnafta”

“A hope for justice began to rise in my heart. This is a small tactical victory. But we understand there should be a lot more such victories for the war to be won, for people to be given their money back, and most importantly for those guilty to be held accountable,” said MP Viktoriia Voitsitska.

For almost a year “Samopomich” MPs Viktoriia Voitsitska and Andriy Zhurzhiy have been waging a war against the state machine fighting for 10 billion hryvnias which belong to Ukrainians: as far back as last summer “Ukrnafta” had to pay taxes to the budget; however, the money got “lost”. During all this time the system has been resisting with a vengeance –claims and inquiries ignored, run-around replies provided, registration of criminal proceedings denied and the State Fiscal Service’s officials blatantly doing nothing – this is only part of the bureaucratic obstacles to be overcome in order for a natural procedure to be done – for what is due to be paid to the budget.

A very unpleasant surprise was the resistance on the part of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau: they refused to register in the unified register of pre-trial investigations the information about the criminal offense committed by chairman of the State Fiscal Service Nasirov and his first deputy Bilan abusing office and including knowingly fraudulent statements into official documents. However, yesterday the corresponding claim of our deputies was satisfied by the court in full: when the truth hurts, it is becoming more and more difficult for the state to play this shameful game, even with our judicial system.

In 2015, in particular due to the pressure of our deputies, 2.5 billion of dividends were paid to the budget. There is a lot of work ahead, but Ukrnafta case has become a matter of honor.

“10 billion hryvnias is the possibility to partially reduce the tariffs on utilities, to abolish the shameful tax on pension and restrictions on the payment of pensions to working pensioners,” noted MP Andriy Zhurzhiy.
