The law enforcement agencies of the country are the stronghold of reaction and slowing-down of changes. This is declared in the statement of the “Samopomich” Union faction.
“One revealing figure – more than a year has passed since Yanukovych was overthrown and the law enforcement agencies have managed to return to the budget only 5,000 hryvnias of those tens of billions stolen by the members of the former regime. Those who should be in prison are beginning to raise their heads and speak frankly about revenge. It is an opportunity for total cleansing of the top law enforcement agencies. We demand that people with unblemished reputations, those that would not cover, but destroy corruption and chase werewolves in their own departments, be appointed to the positions of heads of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Security Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs”.
“The resignation of head of the Security Service Valentyn Nalyvaichenko and the further promotion of a number of employees of this service have demonstrated a number of dark sides of human resources policy in the Security Service of Ukraine. In this body, which is responsible for national security, there are still people who are the subjects to the law of the cleansing of power. They were loyal to the regime of Yanukovych, contributed to the development of anti-Ukrainian coup in the Crimea. Without a clear explanation of the President of Ukraine on the new appointments, the credibility of the Security Service of Ukraine will be steadily dropping,” says the statement of the “Samopomich” Union faction.
“Samopomich” also reminded that the faction in full force supported the expression of no confidence to Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin and announced the demand of resignation of Interior Minister Arsen Avakov.
“Just one fact. The representative of “Samopomich” in the government – Minister of Agriculture Oleksiy Pavlenko – made 166 submissions to the prosecutor’s office for embezzlement of the previous leadership of the agricultural sector in the amount of more than $ 9.5 billion hryvnias. No proceeding into these submissions has been opened”.
