Experience of working in prosecutor’s office should not be mandatory for new employees of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, because this limits the chances to recruit new, honest people.
This was said by the Deputy Chairman of the “Samopomich” Union faction, the Chairman of the Committee on Preventing and Combating Corruption, Yehor Soboliev, on the sidelines of the Verkhovna Rada.
“The commission for the election of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor asks the Parliament to allow recruiting people with no previous experience in the prosecutor’s office to the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office. After all, people with experience in the prosecutor’s office are those who may have become real bribetakers themselves,” he said.
In this regard, according to the MP, “Samopomich” support such an idea.
“I do believe that in our conditions the experience of public service should be regarded as a negative factor, not positive. This is exactly the idea of creating the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office – to employ new people who are not connected with corruption,” said Soboliev.
