It is suggested that the Parliament consider the law on local elections tomorrow, though none of the MPs has seen the amendments approved by the committee so far. This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the “Samopomich” Union faction Oleh Lavryk.
He noted that the “Samopomich” faction would not vote for the document without knowing its contents.
“To vote for an unknown document is shameful. Especially taking into account the fact that some want to stealthily introduce changes to the law that are incompatible with the principles of transparency of the electoral process,” said the MP.
Lavryk notes that the faction will be ready to support the law if it provides for a reduction by 50% of the number of deputies of local councils, prohibition of election blocs which strengthen feudal approaches in power, limiting political advertising and protecting ballot papers from forgery.
In addition, “Samopomich” is against holding elections in the occupied Donbas by the withdrawal of Russian troops.
