Tax reform must begin from the State Fiscal Service, not from business operation rules – Zhurzhiy

Without changes in the very system of the State Tax Service, we may come up with dozens of the best laws, but they will not work. This was stated by “Samopomich” Union faction deputy, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Taxation and Customs Policy Andriy Zhurzhiy.

According to the deputy, reforming the State Fiscal Service it is necessary to move to electronic services to simplify the communication of business with the state and reduce the number of employees.

“As a result of this reform, we are to get two simple things – an office of a taxpayer and a taxpayer’s single account,” said Zhurzhiy.

In addition to the State Fiscal Service reforming, “Samopomich” deputies note the need to eliminate the tax police in the form in which it is now.

“In accordance with their reports the tax police for the past year have tested several thousand no-one-knows-which “beneficiaries”. While 48 conversion centers alone have led to the state losing 4 billion,” said the deputy.

He stresses that the state does not need 6-8 thousand tax police officers, who are supported by the taxpayers, but rather needs 500-700 real professionals.
