The Parliament must be actively engaged in resolving the crisis that arose as a result of fraud in the mayoral elections of Kryvyi Rih. This was stated by a member of the “Samopomich” faction, the Chairman of the anti-corruption Committee, Yehor Soboliev.
“Since the Parliament is the highest body of state power, we offer that it say the final word to put an end to this fraud. Unfortunately, in our country we cannot rely on courts. “Samopomich” lawyers, many members of the TEC, PEC members were not afraid to tell people about these falsifications, were not afraid to testify in court – but they were not heard. The judged just lowered their eyes and read the sentences one by one – not to satisfy the claim,” said the MP.
“We will appeal to the law enforcement agencies. There have already been registered 2 criminal proceedings on the facts of fraud in the elections,” said Soboliev.
“And of course there is the Parliament. We have created a temporary commission of inquiry; it includes the representatives of all the political forces. It is important for the commission to arrive at the scene and figure everything out, to work with the documents, to question the witnesses and to help people. Rigging and theft of votes must be eliminated and punished in our country. All the falsificators must be imprisoned,” he stressed.
