“Samopomich” Union stops voting in Parliament until a solution for Kryvyi Rih is found

The “Samopomich” Union faction refuses to vote in the parliament until a solution for Kryvyi Rih is found. This was declared from the parliamentary rostrum by a member of the “Samopomich” faction, the Chairman of the Committee on Preventing and Combating Corruption, Yehor Soboliev.

“Outside the parliament there are now hundreds of people who have covered five hundred kilometers to convey a very simple message: Kryvyi Rih won’t stand fraud covering. These people have been there for two months. They do not agree that Yuriy Vilkul – a symbol of Yanukovych’s associates, titushky, and fraud – can be elected mayor,” said the MP.

“During this time, the Parliament, the President or any other public authority proved unable to help people. What choice do we leave them with? Who covers Okhendovskyi? Who contrary to their constitutional duties make no submission of new candidates for the new CEC? Despite all the promises to the Parliament and the people. Who turns a blind eye to this all?” said the parliamentarian.

Two weeks ago a bill to hold early mayoral elections in Kryvyi Rih was introduced. It intended to ensure the election of a legitimate mayor. However, this draft law did not receive enough support among MPs.

“We have prepared a very European law on the appointment of early elections in Kryvyi Rih. This is a civilized, peaceful way out of the situation. The “Samopomich” faction asks to urgently put this law to the vote and to vote for it,” called Soboliev.

“The “Samopomich” Union faction will not vote for other decisions until a civilized solution is found for the citizens of Kryvyi Rih, who came here to ask for justice. “Samopomich” is ready to continue to work on the preparation of a quality budget law, but for this matter each and every spending item is to be clarified, and most importantly – the key issue of democracy protection must be solved immediately,” said the deputy.
