Lviv Regional Council has allocated 76 million UAH to provide patients with preparations for hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, however, as noted by the patients and doctors, this amount is not enough for full cost recovery. This was stated by Chairman of the “Samopomich” Union faction Oleh Bereziuk.
He notes that after the appeal of the faction for the necessity to urgently solve the problem, the Antimonopoly Committee had to unblock the tender for the procurement, and the Ministry of Health commissioned to finance the needs of hemodialysis at the regional level at a rate of 2014.
“Yesterday, there was a meeting of the Lviv Regional Council, which decided to allocate funds. Today, however, the issue of apportionment of the money remains unclear – will they cover medical support procedures, and most importantly, will there be additional financing in connection with the devaluation of the currency and a corresponding rise in price of the prime cost of the procedure,” – he said.
The deputy notes that for tomorrow a joint inter-agency meeting is planned. This meeting should give answers to these questions, as well as to the procedural issues on the tendering process and implementation of the procurement.
Bereziuk also said that in other regions, particularly in the capital, the issue of the need to finance hemodialysis remained relevant.
“Last week at a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on Health we discussed the issue of procurement of materials for hemodialysis in “Охматдит”. This shows that the issue still requires the attention of the Ministry of Health, though it was transferred to the local level,” – stated the deputy.
