Today in the first reading the “Samopomich” faction supported very ambiguous and contradictory laws on visa-free regime with the EU and took the responsibility to lead a working group to finalize them before the second reading.
This was announced by a deputy of the “Samopomich” Union” faction, a member of the Committee on Legal Policy, Ruslan Sydorovych.
He has noted that if the Cabinet will continue to present laws of poor quality in the Parliament, the whole visa-free regime enterprise will fail and it will be the government, not the Parliament to be blamed.
“Today another interesting thing happened – in the context of total corruption, lack of changes and reforms in the energy sector and vital sectors of the economy, we were presented with an interesting episode – the possibility of the visa-free regime,” he said.
The MP stresses that when it comes to passing laws that theoretically allow Ukraine to get visa-free regime with the EU, we must understand that the European partners will evaluate not only the names of the bills, but also their contents.
“They will assess how these laws work, if they can lead to even greater corruption. Because what prevents us from having the visa-free regime is not the problem of issuing birth or death certificate, not the problem of foreign citizens’ expulsion. The obstacle is the lack of the reforms that are needed, and, above all, no fight against corruption,” said Sydorovych.
