Public activists from Kryvyi Rih appealed to MPs with the requirement to protect the will of people and hold fair mayoral elections.
“I will not introduce myself, because this is not myself whom I’m representing now. I want you hearing me to hear thousands of residents of Kryvyi Rih, who for a couple of weeks have been fighting for their rights every day. I want you to remember how you came to power – there was the revolution of dignity, there was blood and war. I want you to remember this tomorrow, when Kryvyi Rih will ask you for the chance to defend their right to choose,” said one of the activists.
“When the revolution of dignity was over, we expected that all crimes would be punished. We expected that the laws that were adopted in Ukraine and law enforcement agencies will work. But we are witnessing the same rhetoric, the same actions,” said a member of the Association of ATO veterans.
“Kryvyi Rih citizens came here to be heard. These are not politicians, these are ordinary citizens addressing you. Our votes were stolen, help us please,” urged a public representative.
“The issue of Kryvyi Rih is not an issue of politics, but an issue of the will of people. It is people’s desire of democratic development of the city and free will expression. We have discussed this issue with representatives of various factions and have come to a common understanding,” said the Chairman of the “Samopomich” Union faction, Oleh Bereziuk. “Now the temporary special commission has to make the final decision.”
