Oleh Bereziuk, chairman of the faction, met with co-rapporteurs of the PACE Monitoring Committee, Jordi Xucla and Axel Fischer, to discuss how the position of “Samopomich” is different from a “generally accepted” one in Ukrainian politics:
Amendments to the Constitution regarding decentralization are unacceptable because of the “special status of Donbas” and usurpation of power by the President which is “sold” under the guise of decentralization.
Fraud connected with changes to the parliamentary rules regarding the constitutional process discredits any changes to the Constitution, because the social contract made fraudulently will not be accepted by people, who are the only source of power.
The need for a new Prime Minister and the Cabinet of Ministers is due to the fact that the Government does not meet the standards of public administration, which was proved both by the process and content of the budget 2016.
Temporary isolation of the occupied territories is a prerequisite for the economic, social and political stability of the state. Only a strong state can ensure liberation and subsequent return of Donbas.
At a time when international support is essential for Ukraine, “Samopomich” aims to fully and openly defend its position, which is different from the “typical” one. It is necessary to tell partners the truth.
