The members of the working group on verification of the released to public by the State Financial Inspection reports on financial irregularities asked the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada to speed up the consideration of the bill №1098 «On provisional investigatory commissions”. This was reported by a member of the working group, “Samopomich” Union faction deputy Pavlo Kostenko.
According to the MP, now the set up working group hasn’t got enough powers to inspect the possible acts of abuse, and today the requests of the deputies are often being ignored by the Prosecutor General’s Office, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Finance and other state institutions.
“For example, the Ministry of Finance does not consider it necessary to delegate its representatives to the working group meetings. Thus our work is being hampered,” stated the deputy.
Given this, the deputies ask to continue the work of the group until June 2 and to accelerate the adoption of the law “On provisional investigatory commissions”, which will enable the MPs within their powers to exercise effective control over the use of public funds.
