This was announced by “Samopomich” Union faction deputy, member of the Committee on Taxation and Customs Policy Tetiana Ostrikova during a briefing in the Verkhovna Rada.
“Last year, the State Fiscal Service authorities sent to China alone about 500 requests for confirmation of the cost of the goods specified in the documents submitted to customs clearance. However, there has been no response,” she said.
According to the MP, the absence of control over the adequacy of the pricec of the imported goods leads to importers’ custom clearing mink coats at the price of 61 dollars per 1 kilogram and watches at the price of 56 cents per kilogram. Consequently the state loses a significant amount of money because of the unpaid duties.
“So we ask the Ministry of Foreign Policy to introduce the institute of customs attaches, who will check the prices authenticity of the imported goods submitted for the customs declaration,” explains Ostrikova.
MPs propose to send customs attaches to the countries bordering on Ukraine, and to the countries with which Ukraine has the highest sales turnover – like Turkey and China.
