The issue of procurement of low-quality body armor for the military in the ATO area will be raised at a meeting of the relevant committee of the Verkhovna Rada. This was announced by MP of the “Samopomich” Union faction, fighter of the 128th Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Taras Pastukh on the results of the inspection of the military provisions on the front line.
“Despite some improvements in providing soldiers with protective overgarment, in the quality of dry rations, we saw that there are problems regarding body armor issued by the Ministry of Defence. The testing has shown that they are unable to protect soldiers’ lives,” stated the deputy.
Taras Pastukh said that together with his colleagues he would initiate consideration of this issue at a meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security and Defence.
“We need to know who in the ministry is responsible for the delivery of low-quality protective sheets for body armor, why they hadn’t been properly tested before transferred to the front line, and how much budget money has been spent on their purchase,” said the MP.
