The parliamentary Committee on Preventing and Combating Corruption became a filter for corrupted laws. This was stated by Deputy Chairman of the “Samopomich” Union faction, Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Committee Yehor Soboliev, during the forum “The results of the work of the second session of the Verkhovna Rada of the 8th convocation”.
“Our committee has found corruption in 95 bills, and none of them became a law. In total, we have carried out the anti-corruption expertise of 1005 draft laws and regulations. Thus, we have created a filter for corruption in the Parliament,” stated the deputy.
At the same time Soboliev mentions that much more has to be done.
“The main task now is to secure the implementation of the already adopted laws and to assure the cleansing in the law enforcement. Without a real Prosecutor General and Minister of Internal Affairs – the corruption will not be defeated. In addition, citizens should fight corruption in themselves. Not to give bribes because of the fact that “it’s easier this way”, said the deputy.
