Amendments to the Law “On Joint Stock Companies” will allow Ukraine to receive 1.8 billion UAH of “Ukrnafta” unpaid income

Adopted amendments to the Law “On Joint Stock Companies” will allow Ukraine to receive about 1.8 billion UAH of “Ukrnafta” unpaid income. This was reported by member of the “Samopomich” Union, Secretary of the Committee on Fuel and Energy Complex Victoriia Voitsitska.

“This law will attract billions of hryvnias of additional revenue to the state budget. From now on this is possible due to the obligatory general meetings of joint stock companies in which the state owns more than 50% of voting shares, but less than 60%of them, and making decisions on the allocation of the net profit of such companies and payment of dividends. One of such the companies is “Ukrnafta”, – said the deputy.

She said that over the years, this provision of the law had been allowing to block the meeting of shareholders of “Ukrnafta” OJSC where the state represented by National joint-stock company “Naftogaz of Ukraine” owns 50% + 1 share.

“For four years, Ukraine could not receive 1.8 billion UAH of “Ukrnafta” unpaid income due to the fact that the decision on the payment was blocked by the shareholders. Now this problem is solved, in addition to this the rights of private companies will not be violated. After all, for the companies with state ownership the law comes into effect now, and for those without the state share – starting with January 1, 2016,” – she said.

Voytsitska also reported that the members of the “Samopomich” Union faction together with coalition colleagues Serhiy Leshchenko, Mustafa Naiyem and Svitlana Zalishchuk had been preparing their own alternative bill №1310-1, which also regulated the issue.

“We decided not to place ambitions above the common cause and to avoid the risk of ruining the voting at all. As a result, we have 230 votes that secured victory of the state interests over the oligarchic ones,” – she stated.
