Lviv chairman Andriy Sadovyi and a representative of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development have signed an indemnity contract between the Lviv City Council and the EBRD for the implementation of the garbage processing plant construction project and the reclamation of the Hrybovychi landfill.
The signing of this agreement is one of the mandatory conditions for obtaining credit and grant funds from the EBRD for the implementation of the project for handling solid waste. Through this agreement, the Lviv City Council provides a local guarantee and guarantees for the obligations of the public utility company “Green City” towards the EBRD.
We shall recall that on June 1, a contract for the allocation of 35 million euros to Lviv by the EBRD and the Eastern Europe Energy Efficiency and Environment Partnership (E5P) was signed in Kyiv. With these funds, the city will launch the construction of the first garbage processing plant in Ukraine and the reclamation of the Hrybovychi landfill. The construction is to start already in 2018.
