Syroyid: Behind the anti-Russian rhetoric of the President, there is the policy of maximum pleasing of the Russian Federation

Commenting on yet another high-profile statement of Petro Poroshenko about the possible return of the Crimea within a week after March 31 in the event of his victory in the presidential election, the Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Oksana Syroyid stresses that, as a rule, such words hide inaction or fraud, or outright crime. Consequently, such a promise does not seem to ever come true. The unconditional proof of this is the policy that the government pursues in terms of reintegration of the peninsula.

First of all, according to the Deputy Speaker, because of the President’s connivance, nothing has been done to bring to justice the people related to the annexation of the peninsula.

Oksana Syroyid continues: “The second reason is that over five years of war and almost five years of presidency, no evidence has been collected to let Ukraine file a consolidated claim against Russia in international courts. There are some lawsuits today; but, unfortunately, they will only make Russia stronger.”

Thirdly, there is still no decision on the use of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which allows the Investigation Committee of the Russian Federation to file lawsuits against the Ukrainian military in international courts.

The Deputy Speaker emphasizes that all this is happening against the background of the President’s involvement in the theft in the army.

“Therefore, unfortunatelybehind the anti-Russian rhetoric of the President, there is the policy of maximum pleasing of the Russian Federation,” concludes Oksana Syroyid.
