The Prosecutor General’s Office must leave the business alone. Andriy Sadovyi’s candidate for the position of Prosecutor General, the Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Oksana Syroyid is convinced of this.
She notes, “Today, every criminal proceeding looks like a “start-up”. Criminal proceedings are opened, money is collected, criminal proceedings are closed. This is a very ugly system.” It is not only the Prosecutor’s Office, but almost all the controlling authorities that are engaged in this in Ukraine.
Oksana Syroyid underscores, “The Prosecutor’s Office is simply one of the most vulgar “startupers” that make money from business. This must stop. If people see that there are fair rules of the game, that they will not be persecuted and robbed of their money, they will develop with no additional help. Entrepreneurship does not need help, it needs not to be harmed.”
Summing up, the Deputy Speaker adds, “The Prosecutor General is a kind of measure of values. Unless people trust the Prosecutor General, they will never believe there is justice in the country.”
