Deputy Speaker of the parliament Oksana Syroyid sees no reason for early elections to the Verkhovna Rada.
“All countries sometimes experience situations when the support of the President does not coincide with the support in the parliament. This is the way things are. Are we going to launch re-election every time the votes do not coincide? This makes no sense.”
Many countries have a situation like this. For example, in the United States, it sometimes happens that the President is a Republican, while the majority in the Congress are Democrats. And no one launched re-election because of this.
Syroyid notes: “Do not ravage the parliament, let it effectively finish its work. This Verkhovna Rada can still get its act together and do some really good things. Because the end of term of any parliament can be very productive.”
