Today, at a Cabinet meeting, a list of decisions on reforms in the health care industry was approved. According to the Prime Minister, these are the decisions aimed at reducing the extremely high mortality rate. People’s deputy of the Samopomich Union faction, Deputy Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Health, Iryna Sysoyenko, supports the initiatives of the Government, but at the same time draws attention to the fact that these are fragmentary initiatives that are implemented, while the industry requires high-quality complex changes.
“We need to have a comprehensive vision of how emergency hospitals, district, regional hospitals, specialized medical institutions of the second and third levels of care will work,” said the MP.
Therefore, Samopomich Union continues to insist on the abolition of the government’s initiative to transfer the financing of public utilities and energy resources of hospitals to local budgets. The communities of small towns and villages may not have the necessary budget revenues, which will entail closure of hospitals.
Also, the faction requires the Government to urgently pay attention to and to finance in the next year the work of the emergency medical services.
“We need 392 million hryvnias, for each region to have a single unified dispatcher office which will send ambulances depending on the place of call, will help doctors make decisions, will coordinate actions with medical institutions in case of hospitalization. The number of deaths from strokes, heart attacks, poisoning, etc. may be reduced by 70% if ambulances come in due time,” says Iryna Sysoyenko.
