According to Andriy Sadovyi, the leader of Samopomich, the actions of the President concerning the introduction of martial law were a kind of testing of the reality.
“In fact, martial law should have been introduced when the Russian troops seized the Crimea. Then we could have prevented the occupation of Donbas and could have avoided the tragedies in Debaltseve, Ilovaisk and Zelenopillya,” said Sadovyi at the television channel “24”.
However, he is convinced that to such a testing of the reality Poroshenko immediately got a response – both in Ukraine and from European and American politicians. That is precisely why the Commander-in-Chief departed from his initial plan so easily, reduced the martial law period and accepted the position of the deputies to introduce martial law only in those regions that are actually borderline ones.
“I think the government itself does not know for sure what the next steps will be. And the biggest problem is lack of trust in the Commander-in-Chief. Therefore, civil society should keep abreast.
These 30 days will be over very soon. And no one is going to take away the property of people during the martial law period – we will not let this happen for sure! We are curious about what the President will offer after December 26,” commented Andriy Sadovyi.
