Today, the Parliament began reviewing the changes to the procedural codes of Ukraine. According to Samopomich MP, Ruslan Sydorovych, today the people’s deputies have reviewed 400 amendments out of 4,700. Tomorrow the consideration of the amendments will continue, and the Verkhovna Rada will go on working this way.
“This bill is perhaps the most important in the history of the parliament of this convocation, since the absence of courts that can effectively restore justice results in people’s outrage and emergence of a big abyss. I would like to emphasize that it is very important that the parliament decided to consider these bills in accordance with a full procedure, as it is stipulated by the rules.
This allows deputies to defend their amendments, justify their position, while citizens can see which codes will be offered to accept as a whole,” Ruslan Sydorovych said.
The MP says that presently the Verkhovna Rada has stopped somewhere in the middle of considering amendments to the Economic Procedural Code. In his opinion, the amendments offer a lot of good innovations, such as the abolition of the need for a court decision for holding an examination, which very often significantly delayed business disputes.
“But at the same time, we can trace a lot of negative trends: an attack on the freedom of access to the courtroom, a rudiment in the form of the prosecutor’s office participation in the Economic Process, although the former has nothing to do with the later. Another concern are the provisions regarding the work of the joint chambers in the Supreme Court, which are also a serious threat to the unity of judicial practice, while this is one of the main problems that provokes numerous dubious judgments, and chaos in law enforcement significantly harms our citizens,” says Ruslan Sydorovych.
