In the front line cities the need for local elections is obvious. This was stated by deputy of the “Samopomich” Union faction Roman Semenukha while in Mariupol.
“Most of the positive changes in Mariupol are due to volunteers, not the officials. Ordinary people find donors, feed the army, strengthen the city,” said the MP.
Therefore, in his opinion, it is necessary to ensure that today’s volunteers come to power in the city.
“These people are immune to corruption; they have proven that they know how to take on responsibility,” said the deputy.
In addition, Roman Semenukha noted the need for the new electoral law, which would allow electing to the local government those people who had real support among the population.
