The Verkhovna Rada must pass the laws on electronic communications and radio frequency resources – believes Oleksandr Danchenko, Samopomich MP, chairman of the Committee on Informatization and Communications.
He argues: “First of all, these laws allow holding a transparent and full-fledged competition for 4G. If we fail to pass them, the second and third stages of the competition for 4G are impossible. So, the budget revenues planned for this year at the level exceeding 9 billion hryvnias will be under threat. Also, the operators’ investments will be under threat.
In addition, a visit to the European Commissioner for Digital Economy is planned on February 5-6. The Commissioner is expecting a report from us. These two laws are fundamental.”
Thirdly, according to Oleksandr Danchenko, the law on electronic communications solves the conflict which now faces the IT industry.
Thus, according to the draft law on licensing of economic activities adopted two years ago, the licensing of the communication industry has lost its force since January 1 of this year. However, this remains in the telecommunications law. “Now neither the National Commission for the State Regulation of Communications nor the industry knows what to do,” the MP says.
He concludes: “I appeal to all my colleagues to show their support. We need to vote for these two bills.”
