Oleh Bereziuk: Governing a state is different from governing a business

It is a good sign the President mentioned de-occupation and de-separatisation of Donbas – taken from the last year’s parliamentary vocabulary – in his speech in the Parliament. This is a sign that the executive power of the country, the presidential vertical has finally taken to hear the Parliament. However, while highlighting the priorities Petro Poroshenko forgot about people’s trust. This was told by the chairman of the “Samopomich Union” faction, Oleh Bereziuk.
“Today the President emphasized the three pillars of the state development – peace, security, reforms. These are really the pillars of any quality process, either commercial or non-commercial. Without any doubt security, peace and reforms are the tools of development; however, one of the most important instruments and a base for the development of the country is the people’s trust in public institutions,” said Oleh Bereziuk.
According to him, the absence of such trust is the main problem of the Ukrainian authorities today, which treat some reforms – those of foreign policy for example –in some accounting-like manner.
“Governing a state is different from governing a business. State management is a public process which has an additional component – constant finding out of what people think and want,” emphasizes Oleh Bereziuk.
