Summing up the work of the 8th convocation of parliament, the head of the Samopomich Union faction in the Verkhovna Rada Oleh Bereziuk notes: “This Verkhovna Rada did not manage to become a strong independent body of representative legislative power in the country. But the next one will not manage either. It will take time until those who were born in a free state will come to power.”
At the same time, when answering the question of how to start the work of the next Verkhovna Rada, the MP emphasizes: “We must start with ourselves. We have to be honest, responsible and principled. When pressing the button and voting for something, one always has to remember their own convictions and the convictions of the political force to which they belong.”
Another probable problem of the next parliament is the fact that most likely there will be a powerful and structured hostile force that will try to split the society. At the same time, Samopomich will continue defending the Ukrainian interests, as it has always been doing. We did not allow the implementation of the criminal Minsk agreements in the Constitution of Ukraine and thus preserved the independence of the state.
