Oksana Syroyid: All those who promise you fast peace – have either sold themselves to Russia or are lying

The Deputy Speaker of the parliament Oksana Syroyid draws the attention of her colleagues to the recent speech by the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Federation during a scientific and military conference. She notes that this speech actually consists exclusively of the threats to Ukraine.

“The speech is not about Ukraine, it is about threats to Ukraine. The Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Federation threatens our critical infrastructure, threatens us with terrorism, threatens the security of our cities, our public order.

For us, this means that Russia does not intend to achieve peace with Ukraine. And this means that all those who promise you a fast peace – have either sold themselves to Russia or are lying.”

At the same time, the Ukrainian government is not doing what it should be.

“First of all, the authorities must punish all those involved in the Russian aggression, including those who feel comfortable and safe in this room. The authorities must punish all those who are preparing further sabotage and terrorist attacks against the Ukrainian people. The authorities must protect the critical infrastructure of the Ukrainians. The authorities must protect the cities by ensuring a quality territorial defence. The authorities must develop the army and navy, instead of robbing them.”

Unfortunately, as noted by Syroyid, the reality is different, and the authorities have spent these 5 years on pretentious yet empty speeches and further robbery of the country.

“But speeches will not protect the state, they will not protect our people. And no money you have stolen from this country will save you from responsibility.”
