“Samopomich” faction will not support the bill 4484 on state re-registration of medicinal products, since it is distorted by the pharmaceutical mafia.
According to the faction’s MPs, the declared by the government intentions to provide better access for the medicines of European quality to the Ukrainian market are only a good initiative so far and do not correspond to the facts.
“The bill 4484 cannot be adopted in the form presented by the government, because this bill makes the European quality medicines even less accessible due to absence of a simplified registration procedure.
In addition, this version of the law might lead to the Ukrainian market being flooded with the EU, US, Australian, Canadian medicines registered some 10-15 years ago and either not being used in those countries or having no therapeutic effect,” stated “Samopomich” MP, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Health, Iryna Sysoyenko.
The faction’s MPs also insist on introduction of a reference pricing mechanism. That is to establish the upper maximum limit of the cost of medicines in retail pharmacy chains; and to ban any increase of the costs at the state level.
In addition, Iryna Sysoyenko expressed the need for full or partial reimbursement of the cost of medicines for pensioners and low-income people – those for whom the medication for hypertension, for example, or cardiovascular diseases is vital.
Only when these amendments are introduced to the government bill, “Samopomich” will support it, since we are talking about a qualitative treatment of citizens.
Also, “Samopomich” warns that these amendments should be put to vote in the Verkhovna Rada on Thursday already. Otherwise the faction reserves the right not to vote for any other laws.
