MPs Artur Herasymov (leader of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc faction) and Maksym Burbak (leader of the People’s Front faction) have filed a bill that makes possible the dismissal of the NABU director without an audit.
This is stated in the draft law on amending certain laws of Ukraine regarding parliamentary control.
The bill proposes that the Rada should have the right to dismiss the director of NABU without holding an audit. According to the bill, these may be the President, the Cabinet of Ministers, or 150 MPs that can initiate such a voting.
In addition, it is offered to consider the following things to be the reason for terminating the powers of the NABU director: entry into force of the in relation to the director in connection with the commission of a crime or criminal misdemeanor (other than a careless criminal offense), or the prosecution of an administrative offense connected with corruption.
Also, if adopted, the draft law will grant MPs the right to dismiss any member of the National Anti-Corruption Agency.
