According to the leader of the Samopomich Union faction, Oleh Bereziuk, the only good thing about these dirty elections is the fact that people can finally see the true faces of the authorities.
“This scenario that is unfolding before our eyes is a battle of clans which will neither benefit people or the state. I hope that the Ukrainian people will make their conclusions.”
However, the problem also lies in the fact that everyone has been dragged into the elections, even the executive branch, which is now very weak. This is proved by the situation in Boryslav, where the local community has been fighting for their right to survive for two years in a row. Because of the bad quality work of “Ukrnafta” and “Naftogaz Ukraine” the concentration of methane in sewers makes up 26% (with an explosive limit of 6%). What is the Ministry of Emergency Situations doing? Where is the Prime Minister? How come no one hears the cries of the city council? Because they are dealing with the elections, says Bereziuk.
“We are now at the lowest point of lack of governance. The authority is indeed in the hands of the oligarchs, but when the clans fight, there is no authority. And these are people who suffer from this. The executive branch must work. Yet everyone only cares about either keeping or gaining power.”
However, as emphasized by Bereziuk, there is life after the elections, and the Ukrainian people will not allow deceiving them.
“I believe in Ukrainians,” says Bereziuk.
