These are the parliamentary majority and the ex-president who are to blame for the revenge of the pro-Russian forces. Because the things that are happening now are due to the failure of judicial reform and the appointment of inappropriate people to their posts.
The leader of the Samopomich Union faction Oleh Bereziuk explains where the true reason for the return of the revenge-seekers lies:
“It was the parliamentary majority who made the decision to appoint at least three heads of the SBU and the prosecutors general. While the appointment of the last Prosecutor General – in violation of the laws, the Constitution and moral values – is the greatest shame.”
Therefore, today’s procedural questions of the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada to the bodies is a shame of this state apparatus, which has been ruling the country for the last 5 years.
“This is cooperation with the separatists, this is cooperation with the aggressor in an indirect way. The Prosecutor General’s Office cannot formulate questions and answer the CEC, but who is sitting in the CEC? Are these not the people chosen by the People’s Front and Petro Poroshenko Faction? These are signs of a fiasco. And that is why revenge is happening.”
However, according to Bereziuk, this revenge of the pro-Russian forces is only in the upper echelons of power. Ordinary Ukrainians think differently:
“It is in the East of Ukraine where more than 50% of people see Ukraine in the EU. It is in the East that the support of NATO has grown by 20–15% over the last month. People are heading for a better life, independence and their own identity, while the revenge is the revenge of the oligarchy, whatever it is called – Petro Poroshenko Bloc, People’s Front, European Solidarity, Voice, Servant of the People. These are the false servants of the oligarchs.”
Oleh Bereziuk calls on people to unite and jointly oppose both the revenge and the oligarchy:
“Today, we must unite and say no to the lies. Therefore, Samopomich is going to the polls and is urging to go along.”
